can happen most of the time or only for a while it will still be uncomfortable for anyone.

heartburn happens.
Before the food that we eat can settle in our stomach, it
must first pass into the mouth, then the throat, esophagus then to the lower esophageal sphincter
(LES).
Usually, the lower esophageal sphincter is closed except
when we need to swallow. While the food we eat travels down to our stomach, it will stay there for a while
for the acids to digest the food.
Heartburn happens when the lower esophageal sphincter is
not totally closed then the acid comes back up in the esophagus and the individual will then feel the
discomfort.
Usually, this occurs if an individual eats a lot and also
when doing several physical activities like lifting, lying down, coughing, bending over and straining. Other
foods that cause heartburn are spicy foods, foods with high fat content and caffeine. But not one of those
can explain the occurrence pregnancy heartburn. Other things that results to heartburn are tight clothing,
stress, pregnancy hormones and obesity. So you see it is obvious that heartburn happens during pregnancy and
stress and tight clothing are pervasive at the time of pregnancy.
How Can One Deal With Heartburn
During Pregnancy?
The fastest and easiest way to relieve the discomfort felt
from Heartburn During Pregnancy is to take in anti-acids. But it is not advisable that an individual
takes in anti-acids if the heartburn happens often. Especially when one is pregnant, you must consult first
with your physician to make sure that what you are taking in is safe. It is effective to relieve pain or
discomfort once in a while. Though, anti-acids will not be able to ease the pain and discomfort in the
esophagus but it is the best way to relieve heartburn quickly. Anti-acids can be purchased
over-the-counter.
If you cannot immediately get yourself an anti-acid then
you can try using baking soda. All you have to do is, mix two teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water
then drink it. It has been said that is very effective in relieving heartburn and sometimes it can work for
several days. The only bad thing about it is that it does not taste good. But the effect is very helpful for
other people so if you experience pregnancy heartburn then it is worth trying. Several days without heartburn
will be a huge relief for those who always seem to suffer Heartburn During
Pregnancy.
